Reflection #6: Zotero Workshop!

Before this workshop, I had never heard of Zotero. After learning about this workshop, I wish I had known about this resource earlier.

My biggest takeaway from this workshop is the potential that Zoetero has to simplify research processes. During research, it can be difficult to keep track of sources from different places, such as library databases, Google Scholar, PDFs, and even random websites. Zotero solves this by acting as one central hub where I can collect, store, and organize all my sources. The idea of organizing research into folders really stood out to me, especially when it was compared to curating playlists on Spotify.

The feature that stood out to me the most was the ability to insert citations directly into a paper and have the bibliography update automatically. I’ve spent so much time in the past manually formatting citations, worrying about minor APA errors, and losing marks for improper APA formatting. Seeing how Zotero handles page numbers, multiple citations, and formatting updates makes the writing process feel much more manageable.

I am excited to try out Zotero! I definitely will be using its features to complete my final summative project!
